B.S. Marketing and Fashion Buying and Merchandising from Fashion Institute of Technology, NYC
I'm a New York trained Personal Style Coach helping people and organizations who realize that they need to have the complete package to further their personal or organizational goals.
What type of coaching do you offer and to whom?
I offer personal style coaching to one-on-one clients and to organizations seeking to improve their visual impact. My coaching work extends nationwide, in person and via Skype. My extensive background in the women’s fashion industry makes me uniquely qualified to work with women, but I have male clients who have significantly upped their game by utilizing my services. Both men and women in the performing arts, and in the public eye, have benefited from my skills in creating a signature look and wardrobe that supports their lifestyle with ease.
Why did you get into coaching? What motivates you?
As a Fashion Institute of Technology graduate, my decision to stay and work in New York for Bergdorf Goodman and Eileen Fisher developed my interest in making women look and feel fabulous. My calling is helping my clients discover their signature style, thus building confidence and the potential for greater personal and professional success. In this world of heavy competition, looking confident and pulled together cannot be underestimated. As they say, ‘you never get a second chance to make a good first impression’.
What differentiates you from other coaches?
My coaching work focuses on the exterior portion of a person’s presentation and is often sought in conjunction with business, life, and wellness coaching. While one’s ambitions are often honed by work with other coaches, my work involves the non-verbal communication of clothing and confidence. I have learned that fashion is really about the marriage of art and mathematics and teach my clients to use foolproof rules for dressing that will allow them to present with ease and self-assuredness.
What values are important to you when working with clients?
The values that guide my work are honesty, empathy and discretion. My coaching includes many learning moments that involve soul searching and a sense of humor. My adherence to these values has grown my business almost exclusively through personal referrals and I count many of my clients as personal friends.
What do you do for fun?
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends hiking, cycling, movie going and traveling. I volunteer my time as a board member for the WBOA (Women Business Owners Alliance) and create fundraising events for several nonprofit organizations under the Zesta Style brand. I am also a founding member and Treasurer of the Friends of the Southampton Greenway.
