Certified Creativity Coach (www.creativitycoachingassociation.com), Professional Artist for over 25 years
I work with creative people and professionals who have a need to express their inner self, produce innovative ideas, bring their ideas into the world, and live a life that fulfills them.
What type of coaching do you offer and to whom?
Creativity is a complex experience that can be both wonderful and difficult due to creative blocks. I assist artists and creatives at any level of expertise in their field to maneuver their creativity. Artists might include visual artists, writers, musicians, and performers. Creatives might include designers, educators, entrepreneurs, and anyone who has to use creativity in their work or life. I combine creativity coaching with life, art, wellness, and entrepreneur coaching – thus affecting creativity on a whole new level.
Why did you get into coaching? What motivates you?
The reason I got into coaching was because of students like Sandra:
“I just never thought I could learn to draw…do you realize I can draw whatever I want!!! You are the biggest reason I’m doing so well, you just make me want to be better, a better person, a better artist!!!!”
Sandra was not an exception but rather an example of many students I’ve worked with on a one-to-one basis who were tapping into their creative potential. I was working as a creativity coach before I even had heard the term. The certification program for creativity coaching was an obvious next step. I am motivated by my desire to help people fulfill their creative potential.
What differentiates you from other coaches?
As a creativity coach I specialize in the creative process. This means I utilize my background as an educator to understand the learning process of my clients. As a conceptual artist I know that creativity at its core is about making the right associations. Although I may not be an expert in my clients’ art forms or vocations, I am an expert in the creative process; this makes me a valuable asset to many artists and creative people. Organizations and businesses that depend on innovation will also benefit from my specialization in the creative process.
What values are important to you when working with clients?
In order to orchestrate a creative breakthrough, the core values needed are mutual respect, a willingness to take risks, and collaborative spirit. I utilize my intuitive abilities to enhance these core values throughout our work together — thus making it a rich experience for you.
What do you do for fun?
Making art is bliss for me, I can be found at any time painting, drawing, playing my harmonica, or going to museums and galleries. I also love to cook and bake (my most recent explorations have been vegan cheeses and decorative cakes). I also love spending time with my partner Mike and bird Besa watching old movies, comedies, or fantasies. My travel explorations have taken me across the US, which has been exciting and contributed
